A little background on Neil Plotkin
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Neil Plotkin earned degrees in art history and fine arts at the University of Michigan. Upon graduating, he moved to Europe for a few years living in London and Prague and has been living in New York City since 1995.
Neil Plotkin spent 11 years in Bloomingdale's Home Division as a design director illustrating, designing, developing, and sourcing home products. He worked with factories, importers, exporters, licensing companies, buyers and many others. The work included illustrations and designs for:
Christmas products, candy packaging, package design, textile designs, novelty branded product, painted ceramic designs, glass design, metal products, furniture design, and store/shop design.
Having spent many years in a corporate environment, Mr. Plotkin is very familiar with the need to balance varying needs during the development of concepts in order to make great products.
In 2007, Neil Plotkin left corporate life to focus on his own painting and fine art projects which also included writing about art and artists. And he has lived happily ever after.
He currently lives blissfully with his wife and two energetic sons in Brooklyn, New York.
